The Bay Area is divided into nine county-based regions, allowing BAYEDC to better understand the unique economic characteristics, industries, and challenges of each local community. This regional structure enables members to develop targeted educational initiatives, business support programs, and economic research that address the specific needs of their county.

While each county operates as its own region, counties with similar economic characteristics are grouped into broader regional networks to encourage collaboration, share best practices, and address cross-regional opportunities.
